We like to see our babies for 3D/4D and HD Live anytime between 22-34 weeks. The best viewing time is between 28 and 32 weeks. After 32 weeks, we can still get Good pictures, but the chances go down because of the baby and placenta’s possible position, and the amniotic fluid naturally tends to diminish.
We routinely see baby gender after 16 weeks.
Yes. Ultrasounds have been used safely in obstetrics for over 35 years. In the many years of ultrasound use in medicine, there has never been a harmful effect shown by its use. According to the FDA, when ultrasound enters the body, it heats the tissue slightly, and the long-term effects of tissue heating are not known.” We feel your health and the health of you baby are of the utmost importance. We only use and own machines that meet FDA guidelines.
2D ultrasound provides traditional black and white images that you have seen in the past. It typically is the best way for a trained sonographer to image your baby diagnostically.
3D ultrasounds provide a more detailed 3rd dimension of the baby that is easier for non-trained eyes to see. You can often see fingers,toes, and the facial features of your baby.
4D ultrasound gives moving images of your baby inside the womb. HD ultrasound displays higher resolution and details and more realistic depth perception of 3D anatomy.
A registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), must go through many years of extensive training. They must learn anatomy, physiology, and physics. They are required to take national boards and attend continuing education annually to stay up to date with their credentials.
No, we do not require a doctor’s note.
